The Real cause of death of Anne Boleyn.
We all know Anne Boleyn for being the second wife of Henry VIII who faced her death inside the walls of the Tower of London. She was held there as a prisoner before on the 19th May 1536 she made her way up onto the scaffold to face her executioner. It was a swordsman from France who Henry had ordered to perform the job, one final act of mercy from the King to his wife, as there was more chance of something going wrong using the commoners axe. We all know that Anne’s cause of death was execution by beheading, however he real cause of death occurred a lot longer before that fateful day inside the Tower of London. It is the political scheming of one man, and the King’s wandering eye that cause the death of Anne Boleyn. In this video we look at the circumstances around Anne’s death, and how it was Thomas Cromwell who caused the death of one of history’s most tragic women.
