Tangled is a 2010 animated musical fantasy film directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, from a screenplay by Dan Fogelman, based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Rapunzel. The plot follows Rapunzel, a young woman with magical, long golden hair, who has been locked in a tower her entire life by the deceptive Mother Gothel. Yearning to see the world, Rapunzel teams up with charming thief Flynn Rider to escape and discover the truth about her past while pursued by Gothel and other dangers. The voice cast includes Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Donna Murphy, Ron Perlman, M.C. Gainey, and Brad Garrett.
