Dana 30 Re-Gear: Revolution Gears & Powertrax No-Slip locker Install Jeep TJ | LJ | XJ | MJ | YJ

In this video I’ll be regearing an HP Dana 30 axle housing as part of a more complete axle restoration video series. I’ll start with a full tear down of the housing, then methodically build it back up. I’ll be covering important details such as pinion preload, depth, backlash, gear setup theory, and how to identify an acceptable gear mesh pattern. During the setup, I’ll also be changing the gear ratio, from 3:55s to 5:13s and installing a Powertrax No-Slip Locker, New Timken bearings, seals and lastly, performing a break in cycle.
