In this putting alignment video you will learn how to correctly aim the golf ball when you putt. You will learn how you should carefully consider the break of a putt and adjust your putting aim accordingly. Indeed, putting isn’t a simple matter of rolling the ball directly towards the hole each time with your putter. No, in most instances you will need to start the ball on a line either left or right of the hole for the ball to have a chance of going in. That’s because golf greens usually have slope, and that slope will impact the break of a putt, either sending the ball left or right. So the first step is to correctly read the green and try to anticipate the break of your putt, how your ball will roll after you strike it with your putter.

Then you need to make sure to aim your feet parallel to the target line, and crucially not towards the target itself. Indeed, your feet should be parallel-left of the target line (for a right-handed golfer), aiming as far left of the target as the distance between your feet and the golf ball. Finally, the clubface of your putter should be square - directly facing the target line.

Just remember that the hole and the target are not always one and the same when you putt. When putting, your target - or aim - is where you want the golf ball to start, not where you want it to finish.
