Converting our shed into a chicken coop

If you a person who likes to do it your, and on a budget, then taking an old shed and converting it to a chicken coop is an excellent way to make a useful and study space for your feathered babies. We had endeavored to build our own out of pallet wood and it was great for a while but rotted in the weather and in the semi swampy area that we live. We had a garden shed that was solid, had hardiplank siding and just enough of a gap where the walls meet the ceiling that we knew that it would be nicely ventilated in the summer and would keep our girls (and roo) safe and cozy year round. Come check out the finished product on a little tour with us. I highly recommend the automatic door opener so that even if you get busy, your chickens will be safely close up at night at whatever time you determine is best.
