Reel #12 from The Chelsea Girls.
This was filmed in real time unedited with the Velvet's playing in the background as the film is shot. Nico complains "it's too much noise" and after that it gets very quite and they stop playing for a short time. Then all of a sudden the VU starts back up with a deafening wall of noise and feedback. This soundtrack reminds me of 'The 'Nothing Song' and 'Melody and Laughter' from the Valleydale Ballroom Columbus Ohio November 4, 1966. After the noisy middle section the music starts to mellow a bit and towards the end it gets sort of melodic like a sunrise after a storm. Of the 12 reel's this is my favorite.
