There is a well known Samoan proverb that goes along the lines of: “O le tama a le manu e fafaga i fuga o la'au, ae o le tama a le tagata e fafaga i upu ma tala.” 🌴🗣️
This translates into English as “the young of the bird is fed with the fruit of the trees but the son of man is fed with words and stories.” 🦅🐥
In today’s episode we explore this proverb alongside the wider topics of language, education and being life long Pacific learners 💭📚
Fa'afetai tele lava Leota for joining us to share such rich knowledge and heartfelt faasoa. Ia manuia le Atua ia te oe! ☀️
We humbly apologize for our incorrect order of the pepeha in te reo Maori! It is widely practiced for maunga and awa to be recited first before waka! Aroha mai!
