RecycLA Franchise Zones: Athens Services

RecycLA" is the City of LA's new commercial and multi family recycling program that is operated and owned by the LA Bureau of Sanitation. 7 exclusive haulers have been assigned to collect 11 individual zones. Each zone will be collected by 1 specific hauler, and each zone will be divided into 6 parts for transition periods. Each transition period will provide interaction with business owners and building owners. Companies will ask owners what size dumpsters or special bins they will need.

RecycLA offers service for each type of stream. Trash is color coded black, Recycling is colored blue, and Food Waste is colored green. Companies shall acquire dumpsters that don't belong in their zone and re brand them to their own or collect them just the way as is.

Athens Services is working in the West LA, North Central, and Harbor portion of LA, they have acquired about 21,864 accounts and with that they cover 33% of LA. I live in the North Central zone, but I've been able to go through every zone (excluding Harbor) to see transition periods. Recycling has been enforced and I think the zone is completely done now.
