Camp Know Where 2.0 Campsite — Full review

Camp Know Where 2.0 is a river-front, privately-run campsite.

Expect simple gravel riverside pitches, basic chalets, simple facilities and open views of KKB Hills — a peaceful, “back-to-nature” spot where the river is the main attraction for White Water Rafting etc. However, during rainy season, the Upstream Dam is closed, hence water is very low almost unavailable. It was rather sad for us to be there during such time where there was very little water and its super stagnant.

What the place feels like

Landscape vibe with shallow rocky river banks and scattered camping grounds. Plenty of space for awnings and group setups. The setting is leafy and valley-like great for morning coffee by the water and loud cicada evenings.

Popular with Malaysian family campers and community groups on both short and long weekends. Not a commercial glamping resort but more rustic and communal.

Facilities & practicalities

Accommodation options: tent pitches, chalets and open common area gazebos. Expect basic on-site rather than resort comforts.


How to get there (practical route notes)

General approach: Head North from KL towards Rawang, passing Serendah until Kuala Kubu Bharu

Road & vehicle: Final approach involves slight offroads slight hilly non winding roads and some rough stretches.

Recommend a vehicle with decent ground clearance if you’re bringing heavy camping loads. Expect the trip to take slightly longer than a flat-road distance suggests. about 50mins from Shah Alam.

Parking & last-mile: parking is available nearby but you may need to carry gear a short distance from the parking area to riverbank pitches depending on where you set up.

Safety & leave-no-trace

River safety: river looks shallow in photos but currents and rocks vary. Supervise children and avoid swimming after heavy rain.

Environment: pack out all trash, avoid loud generators at night, and respect local residents and any posted rules. Many groups camp here because of the natural quiet. Help keep it that way.

Useful tips

Bring: drinking water, insect repellent, portable shade, first-aid kit, waterproof bags for gear, cooking stove (open fires may be restricted), and cash.

Timing: weekdays or off-peak weekends are quieter. Check local weather and river levels rise quickly after rain.
