The Big Bradford Cathedral Push, Day 5 - Steady progress

Steady hands, simple tasks, and satisfying progress.

In this ninth episode of the Big Push, the day begins with one of my favourite kinds of modelling sessions: slow, methodical, and quietly productive. I spend a couple of hours adding textures and plinths to the model—no big decisions, no design work, just a calm rhythm of cutting, gluing, and placing.

It’s the kind of work that doesn’t look dramatic on camera, but it’s deeply satisfying. The sort of modelling that lets your mind wander while your hands get on with the job. By the end of the morning, the model has taken another big step forward—even if it’s hard to put your finger on why.

A simple, focused start to Day 5—and a reminder that real progress often comes in these quiet stretches.
