Hi Everyone,
I Visited fascinating history of SUNEHRI MASJID (Golden Mosque), one of Delhi’s hidden gems located in Chandni Chowk near Red Fort (Lal Qila). Built in 1747 during the reign of Mughal Emperor Ahmad Shah Bahadur, this mosque is known for its elegant Mughal-Islamic architecture and once-gilded domes that sparkled like gold under the sun.
But beyond its beauty lies a darker story — it was from SUNEHRI MASJID that Persian ruler Nadir Shah gave the horrific order for the 1739 Delhi massacre. This makes the mosque both a symbol of splendor and tragedy, a silent witness to Delhi’s turbulent past.
I hope you enjoy this video.
