Hello, my friends! If you want to like, comment, share or subscribe I'll be very happy! As always, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the friendship and affection you always show me through your visits and comments.
With this video begins a series related to my beautiful trip to the splendid city of Stockholm at the end of July 2023.
Stockholm is the fascinating and historic capital of Sweden and is a truly wonderful city to visit and discover, very varied and unique, which struck me very much.
It is a city where water is present everywhere, rising on a spectacular archipelago between the mouth of the Baltic Sea and the enchanting Lake Malaren, with 14 islands that compose it.
You can therefore understand how this city is unique and fascinating and always very different depending on the perspective from which you look at it.
We will begin this first video by discovering the historic heart of Stockholm, its Old Town and that is the island of Gamla Stan.
We will start from the ancient islet of Riddarholmen, the Island of the Knights, a fascinating area with breathtaking views that includes notable Kyrkan, oil buildings and the valuable Riddarholms Kyrkan, the Church burial place of the Sorans of Sweden.
Then we will visit Helgeandsholmen, the small island that houses the Swedish Parliament and then we will enter the heart of Gamla Stan crossing Slottsbacke, the street where part of the Royal Palace of Stockholm and its Cathedral, dedicated to St. Nicholas, are located.
In the same street there is also the Finska Kyrkan, which in the back courtyard hides the smallest statue in the city, that of the "Boy looking at the moon". It would bring good luck to stroke its head.
Then we will find ourselves in the most beautiful and most iconic square in Stockholm, Stortorget, with its long history, with its colorful houses so typical and picturesque, once the site of the market, where now there is also the Museum dedicated to the Nobel Prize.
Not far away, the splendid Branda Tomten, a pretty little square where ancient ochre-colored houses overlook and where there is a centuries-old horse chestnut tree.
Finally we will find ourselves around Jarntorget, another nice square in Gamla Stan where you can find, a short distance away, the narrowest alley in Stockholm, with its only 90 cm. of width.
I really recommend you to lose yourself in Gamla Stan walking through its ancient cobbled streets enjoying its lively atmosphere, stopping for a typical cinnamon sweet or to watch the incessant coming and going of tourists and rest in one of the many cafes, bars and restaurants.
Stockholm is truly a wonderful city. I fell in love with it.
Friends, I hope you will enjoy watching this video and that, perhaps, it can be a starting point for planning a trip to this fascinating city.
A hug to all of you and thank you from the heart!
