When recovery didn’t come, he turned his investigative skills to understanding the condition. Since then, he has conducted over a dozen patient-led studies, interviewed leading global experts, and built a widely respected YouTube channel now boasting over 6 million views. His work has been featured in The New York Times, New Scientist, Men’s Health, and beyond.

In this Fireside Chat, Dr Kane and Gez reflect on the journey of the past five years: what's been learnt about Long COVID, how recovery and treatment are evolving, and where hope lies for the future. Gez shares what inspired The Long COVID Handbook, co-authored with Professor Danny Altmann, and the crucial role patient-led research continues to play in shaping care and awareness.
