Park Point or Minnesota Point? Today we’re hiking this iconic sandbar in Duluth to explore its beaches, lighthouse ruins, explore its vibrant past and even catch a 1,000-foot ore ship heading out the Superior Entry. This trail is full of history: Ojibwe travel routes, Minnesota’s first lighthouse, Duluth’s crowd sourced and hand-dug canal story, and the Boeing bridge troll toll attempt. For hundreds of years people have been inhabiting this 5.2 mile stretch of beach and pine forest.
