The AWS Outage That Broke The Internet Explained in Under 10 Minutes!

On October 19–20, 2025, a major AWS outage in the us-east-1 region caused widespread internet disruption when a rare race condition inside DynamoDB’s DNS automation system erased its endpoint from Route 53. In this video we break down what went wrong, why DynamoDB became unreachable, and how that failure cascaded into EC2, Lambda, NLB, SQS, and IAM. We also explore some of the aftermath and the broader lessons this event teaches us about designing resilient cloud systems in a world that depends heavily on AWS.
