Amazing Autonomous Reversing

REX Controls presents the developed autonomous reversing assistant on a miniaturized car and trailer model. The ingenious feedback control makes it possible to reverse with up to seven trailers. The assistant is production ready for implementation in the field. Also, the presented small-scale autonomous articulated vehicle is available for research and education.

The assistant evaluates all angles of attached trailers and automatically adjusts the angle of the front wheels. The tracked trajectory is calculated in real-time from driver commands or a piecewise linear path.

T3T model includes:
single truck and three trailers
onboard control unit
controlled by REXYGEN with 2ms control period
magnetic encoders for measurement of trailer angles
optical data communication in trailer arm joints
absolute navigation with HTC Vive
remote control with a game pad
web-based human-machine interface
variable length of truck and trailer arms
front wheels are controlled independently
maximal speed 0.40 m/sec
at least 2 hours of battery operation
lidar compatible (option)
