How To Join Hypixel! (Updated 2025)

This Short explains how to join the very popular Minecraft server "Hypixel" in 15 seconds! This should be all of the information that you need, but if you have questions, feel free to leave them down below or checkout my longform video on this which contains a bit more info!

Written steps for joining:
Step 1: Launch Minecraft Java Edition on any of the valid versions! (Currently: 1.8.x,1.12.x,1.17.x,1.18.x,1.19.x,1.20.x,1.21.x) [Hypixel is Java ONLY]
Step 2: Click on Multiplayer
Step 3: Press “Add Server”
Step 4: Type “mc.hypixel.net” into the Server Address bar (the name you choose doesn’t matter)
Step 5: Press “Done”
Step 6: Double click the newly added server and you should be in!

Reminder that Hypixel is JAVA ONLY! It will not work on Bedrock Edition! (Which is on mobile and consoles)

Other important information:
You must actually own Minecraft! (No pirated versions)
Not all versions of Java Edition are supported
Sometimes relaunching your game helps if you can't connect
Sometimes the refresh button on the server list can be really useful for connection problems

Be sure that you type the IP correctly! (It's mc.hypixel.net)
