[IRT Seventh Avenue Line:]
(1): Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street to/from South Ferry
NOTE:
As of last week (September 8, 2018), it was revealed that the new WTC-Cortlandt Street Station would reopen at 12PM noon for the first time in 17 years (after 9/11), when this station was destroyed by the debris from the collapse of the twin towers in 2001. It is saddened to say that people lost their lives outside and inside of the subway during the 9/11 attacks. Now after 17 years, all 1 trains and rerouted 2 trains would board passengers in the new-looking WTC-Cortlandt Street Station. Unfortunately, this doesn't feature ESI programs like I was expected to happen here. This station has newer countdown clocks that are different than other countdown clocks on the 1-6 lines. As you can see, we are outside of the World Trade Center, then entering WTC-Cortlandt Street, featuring several R62A's on the 1 line. Also, due to weekend construction, there is no 1 train service to South Ferry. The last stop on all downtown 1 trains is Rector Street. For service to South Ferry, transfer for free shuttle bus service at Chambers Street, WTC-Cortlandt Street, or Rector Street. Also, uptown 1 trains are running express from Dyckman Street to Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street. For local service, transfer at Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street to a Rector Street-bound 1 train, transfer to the A train at Washington Heights-168th Street, or take a Bx7, Bx9 or M100 buses, along the Broadway line.
