THE STORY:
Back in summer 2015 I used the power of Social Media to spend some of the best bike days I ever had. I was going for my annual bike-trip which again I decided to spend in Northern Italy. And again I decided - since I enjoyed the meeting with RoyalJordanian the year before - to combine my trip with meeting new people whom I knew from Instagram and YouTube.

So for the second part of my journey I first traveled to Merano where around noon I met up with BLKMRKT and friends. Together we took off and were headed for Stern / La Villa which is still located in the Südtirol/Alto-Adige region. There we spent two nights in order to have one day just for riding. Without having to get anywhere. A good decision that was! Südtirol is such a magnificent place to ride. Every time I get to spend time there I totally feel elevated. Don't get me wrong, Austria has very beautiful regions as well but to me personally the scenery of Südtirol simply is on another level. Surely it is my happy place!!
After this wonderful day of riding for fun it was time for me to head home (Vienna, Austria) again. Fortunately the beautiful landscapes don't stop when traveling from Northern Italy to Austria. So this ride home is what you're seeing in the last part of the video :)

Why did it take me more than two years to put together this video?Well. Back when I returned home from the trip in 2015 I simply was overwhelmed by the amount of footage I shot. At first I simply never felt like tackling this huge mountain of videos. And with time I learned and realized what kind of video footage it actually needs in order to be able to tell a good story. Definitely not the kind which I created during that trip. I had zero clue and simply recorded random moments and TONS of short Onboard views which showed nice landscapes. With that in mind I realized I'll never be able to create an edit which actually would please me. So I decided to abandon those clips for a while. Until the urge to share these moments got bigger again. So about a month ago I started to work on this first part. It was very hard to keep myself motivated because I knew from the beginning that I wouldn't be 100% satisfied in the end. I was right but still I can say that I sincerely gave my best to put together those great moments in an entertaining way.

FOR THE SMARTASSES: the scene where I put "Welcome to Italia" onto the screen was shot in Südtirol/Alto Adige. Which officially is a part of Italy. But many locals from there still don't want to be called Italians. I'm aware of this.
