**Quick Note**
Just wanted to answer a common question in the comments below. My line where I say "it's not broken or finicky, just precise" is just to point out that the requirements for a lock can be reliable, but it's a very strict set of requirements. The devs did say they would improve the lock on to make it easier and hopefully that means they will make it so the spear will lock when it sees 50% or more of the target. Right now it has to see almost 100% of the target to lock which is too "precise" in many situations. This guide will help you understand the requirements for a lock and how to achieve it as it currently is, and it may help with how lock on systems will work in this game moving forward. "Broken" typically means it doesn't work at all and I believe that is a poor description for the spear as it currently is.
