Recorded in 1928
Camden, N.J.
One of our favorite stories about Kreisler and Rachmaninoff is a tale told by Kreisler himself about Rachmaninoff's sense of humor. They were giving a recital of a Beethoven sonata when the great violinist lost his place. He leaned into Rachmaninoff and asked; "Where are we?", without looking up from the keyboard the composer replied, "Carnegie Hall!"
This is the third post of the collaboration of these two great artists on this channel, and we can only regret that there are no more. They are a landmark in recordings and have long been a favorite with collectors. As for the performance, your ears tell all you need to know.
Although noise reduction has been used, some noise is still present
