King Stephen and The Anarchy, English Medieval King and Civil War, Matilda

Join me as we explore one of the most violent and turbulent times in medieval history - The Anarchy. We will find out how a disaster at sea brought about a succession crisis that eventually lead to a seizure of the English crown and a subsequent civil war that lasted for around a decade and a half. We shall investigate the principle characters, the main areas of conflict, we will also visit locations that are important to the saga and then finally look at the eventual peace that was brokered together with how the country was rebuilt in the wake of this protracted carnage.
