Childhood
I was born to Sangeet Pravin Pragya Pandit Nara Raj Dhakal and Jyoti Dhakal in 2025/7/29. I am told that I was an aggressive child but obedient too. I grew up in a very musical environment. A lot of singers used to come to our place to learn music from my father and most of them were prominent radio singers of those days. Looking at them, deep inside me a desire to be a singer one day was established. I used to go along with my father in almost every musical function and as the days passed by, I was more and more into music. I started learning music from my father. Initially my father told me not to take up music as a profession. I worked hard and when he realized that I was improving at a good pace, he stopped saying that. I used to participate in musical competitions at school. As my father was a 'worshiper' of music, I always had a feeling deep inside to prove myself that I was his son. We lived at Dhobichaur, Chhetrapati. I was given a lot of freedom. I was hardly present at home. That's where I was exposed to the wider perspectives of life watching the world all by myself. We used to swim at Bishnumati River which is impossible to do these days. We would steal cucumbers from the fields and hunt birds and go fishing. We used to eat whatever birds we hunted.

Entry Into Music
I loved music ever since I can remember actually. I first started as a substitute classical vocal teacher. My father sometimes couldn't attend all the classes. Then the number of students increased and I started teaching full time. It was 20 years back that I started teaching. Then along with some of my musician friends, we came up with a classical album named 'Moment'. This was around 14 years back. Ten years back an album named 'Sohani' was released that comprised all of my compositions and sung by my students. Now we have a classical band named 'Dafa'. The band consists of three members - Suresh Bajracharya, Rabin Shrestha and myself. Once a year, we make it a point to felicitate artists who have been contributing substantially in the overall development of music. This was the main reason why we formed the band.

Me/ Myself
I present myself the way I am. I try my best not to hurt others. I like to help others in anyway I can like others do unto me. Talking about myself, I was really a carefree person during my collage days. I never used to attend classes. I used to play basketball all the time. I was doing bachelors in commerce at that time. Our campus chief Jay Ram Regmi always joked that he would build a statue of mine on the campus grounds if I passed my bachelors degree. But surprisingly I passed the exam and I used to joke with my campus chief saying that I was expecting my statue on the ground! Then I joined M.com but I did not continue with it. Since I always wanted to do masters, I did my masters in classical vocals from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Illahbaad. I am currently involved at Nepal Music School looking after the vocal department.

Love & Marriage
I got married to Anita on 25th Falgun, 2055. It was an arranged marriage. I'm happy with my married life. I have a ten year old daughter Sohani. It means a raga in classical music which is sung in the evening. I have a four years old son too - Birash. The name is also a raga that is sung in the morning. It was only after our marriage that my wife and myself fell in love with each other. In short, I understood the meaning of love only after marriage. Love provides good vibes and everything positive of life, so it's a very important ingredient.
