The Salt Range is a hill system in the Punjab province of Pakistan, deriving its name from its extensive deposits of rock salt. The range extends along the south of the Potohar Plateau and the north of the Jhelum River. The Salt Range contains the great mines of Khewra, Kalabagh and Warcha which yield vast supplies of salt. Coal of a medium quality is also found.
Sakaser is the highest peak of Salt Range.
Namal Lake, Khabikki Lake and Uchhali Lake are lakes in the Salt Range.
When you travel via M-2 Motorway, the region offers beautiful rock formations and table mountains. The travel itself is beautiful but its beauty is ignored by many because of no proper marketing and tourism facilities. The tourist spots have been developed at various other places of Salt Range,
1. Khewra Salt mines
2. Soon Sakaser
3. Kallar kahar lake near M-2 Motorway toll plaza
4. Katas Raj Temple
5. In recent years tourist have started visiting the previously undiscovered places like Neel Wahan & Swaik Lake.
We at travelling trio want our audience to see that how beautiful are these mountains. The beauty is easily ignored, may be after this video our audience can see these mountains with an entirely different perspective when they travel via M-2 again. We also hope that our tourism department and private sectors pay attention to these particular mountains. They are easily accessible, with proper marketing & facilities they can become a major tourism hub of Pakistan.
