Researchers from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering under the College of Design and Engineering at NUS have developed flexible Scalable Hydrogel-clad Ionotronic Nickel-core Electroluminescent (SHINE) fibres that not only self-heal when cut but also emit bright, highly visible light. Potential uses for the fibres include soft robotics, interactive displays and smart fabrics.
