Michael Paouris – DISHARMONY

Από τη ρήξη στην αποδοχή. Από την αμφιβολία στην Αρμονία.

Το 2012, ο Michael Paouris τόλμησε να ανατρέψει ό,τι θεωρούνταν δεδομένο: να εντάξει το Μπουζούκι – ένα κατεξοχήν παραδοσιακό ελληνικό όργανο – στον κόσμο της Τζαζ και ειδικά της Jazz Fusion. Η πρότασή του τότε προκάλεσε αμφισβήτηση, δυσπιστία, ακόμα και άρνηση.

Αυτή η πρώτη αντίδραση έδωσε το όνομα στον δίσκο: DISHARMONY. Ένας τίτλος που συμβολίζει την αρχική "δυσαρμονία" ανάμεσα σε διαφορετικούς κόσμους – την παράδοση και τον νεωτερισμό, την Ανατολή και τη Δύση, το γνώριμο και το άγνωστο.

Όμως, το άκουσμα του έργου ανατρέπει κάθε προκατάληψη. Η τεχνική δεξιοτεχνία του Michael Paouris, η βαθιά του κατανόηση τόσο της Jazz όσο και της ελληνικής μουσικής, και η μοναδική του αισθητική, οδηγούν τελικά στην Αρμονία.

Το DISHARMONY είναι ο δεύτερος δίσκος από τους συνολικά 48 που έχει κυκλοφορήσει μέχρι σήμερα ο Michael Paouris, και παραμένει ένα σημείο αναφοράς για την καλλιτεχνική του ταυτότητα και το προσωπικό του όραμα.

Δεν είναι απλώς ένας δίσκος. Είναι ένα μουσικό manifest. Ένα σημείο καμπής για το Μπουζούκι, που από εθνοκεντρικό σύμβολο γίνεται διεθνές όργανο έκφρασης, με ισότιμη θέση στην παγκόσμια μουσική σκηνή.

From disruption to acceptance. From doubt to Harmony.

In 2012, Michael Paouris dared to challenge the status quo: to introduce the Bouzouki – a traditionally Greek folk instrument – into the world of Jazz, and more specifically, Jazz Fusion. His proposal at the time was met with skepticism, disbelief, and even rejection.

This initial reaction inspired the title of the album: DISHARMONY. A word that captures the first clash between different worlds – tradition and innovation, East and West, the familiar and the unknown.

Yet, listening to the music dissolves all prejudice. Through Michael Paouris’s technical virtuosity, his profound understanding of both Jazz and Greek music, and his unique artistic vision, the journey inevitably leads to Harmony.

DISHARMONY is the second album in what has now become a collection of 48 releases to date by Michael Paouris. It remains a milestone in his artistic path and a bold declaration of his musical philosophy.

This is not merely an album. It is a musical manifest. A turning point for the Bouzouki, transforming it from a symbol of national identity into a global instrument of expression – standing proudly alongside the great voices of world music.
