Apple IIc (1984) Upgraded with HDMI in 2025 - A2C Tangy Pack FPGA

Let's check out my retro Apple IIc personal computer from 1984 that was purchased brand new by my grandparents back in the day and how I came to own it years later, plus getting HDMI (DVI) and VGA video out thanks to Rob Kim's A2C TangyPack Tang Nano 9K FPGA.

Rob Kim's A2C TangyPack provides both HDMI and VGA output for your NTSC Apple IIc, Apple IIc+, or Laser 128 and plugs into the video expansion port of the Apple IIc/IIc+ and is powered from the port itself. It is a scan doubling device that will take the 560x192 video of the Apple IIc and upscale the video to ~640x480 (720x480 @ 28.63MHz pixel rate) video resolution supported by most modern video monitors.

The Tangy Pack has three buttons that provide the following functions:

Scanline effect: On or Off
Color mode: Color, Mono Green, Mono Amber, or Mono White
Border: Off, White, Blue, Green
