On Tuesday, September 24, the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute was honored to host Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, on campus. Her visit included this address to the Harvard community, which was co-sponsored by the Institute of Politics and the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
The First Lady of Ukraine led a conversation on the role of global Ukrainian studies in Ukraine's fight for independence.
Opening remarks by Setti Warren, Director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School.
Introduction by Serhii Plokhii, Mykhailo S. Hrushevs'kyi Professor of Ukrainian History and Director of the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University.
Moderated by Karen Donfried, Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School, and Director of the Congressional Research Service.
We are grateful to all those from the First Lady's team, the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, and Harvard University who helped to make this visit possible, and to our colleagues at the Ukrainian Institute in Kyiv who helped us lay the groundwork for this momentous occasion.
