We took our cameras (and a bit of optimism) to the Andover Soap Box Derby to see what it’s really like to shoot a fast-paced, unpredictable event — on film.
Ben brought the Pentax 6×7 loaded with FPP Wolfman 100. Mark shot Kodak Gold on his Rolleicord VA and ColorPlus 200 on the Canon 500N.
In this episode, we talk through the chaos of the day, what worked, what didn’t, and what we’d do differently next time. From missed shots to surprise gems, it’s a lesson in shooting events the hard way — with no autofocus, no burst mode, and definitely no second chances.
