Overnight trip in the Adirondack High Peaks Wilderness area. Day 1 total of approximately 16 rugged miles hiked, starting at the Garden Trailhead and hiking Mount Marcy, the highest peak in the state of New York at
5, 343 ft and then over to the Haystacks, the third highest peak in New York State at 4,960 feet. We slept in our Hammocks near Bushnell Falls and in the morning got to sit and eat breakfast near a beautiful waterfall before hiking out about 6.5 miles back to the car.
