A cornerstone of the Chicago Footwork movement since the late 2000s, DJ Manny has long been recognized as one of the genre’s defining artists. A protégé of the legendary DJ Rashad, Manny has been on an exceptional run in recent years, dropping standout EPs and albums on Moveltraxx, Teklife and Planet Mu. Beyond the studio, he’s brought Footwork culture to global stages, not only as a DJ but also as a dancer, cementing his role as one of the movement’s true ambassadors.
When he’s not crafting official remixes for artists like Kelela and Paul Johnson, Manny continues to push boundaries. His new EP, Keep The Bass Flowing (out November 28 on Moveltraxx), dives deep into a wide spectrum of influences blending ’90s dance, ’80s funk, acid house and R&B while still delivering the hard-hitting Juke bangers that have become his signature.
