How to Make Delicious Strawberry Cake Layers

This is a simple way to make delicious strawberry cake layers! By following this recipe and instructions, you'll be making this great spring recipe in no time at all! As always, my recipe allows the cake layers to be stored in the freezer for up to a month. Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions!
This recipe also works great for cupcakes! Reduce baking time to about 16-18 minutes.
2 cups sugar (400 g)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (113 g)
2 eggs
1 cup strawberry purée (8 oz)
1 Tablespoon vanilla (15 g)
2 3/4 cups AP flour (330 g)
1 Tablespoon baking powder (15 g)
1 teaspoon salt (5 g)
1 cup buttermilk (8 oz) milk may be substituted
Optional: a drop or two of red or pink food gel
3-4 Tablespoons freeze dried strawberry powder (45-60g)
