Hi friends! Today we will dive into the dark depths of Summarise Written Text. This question seems to cause quite a bit of trouble for many of you and there is little to no confirmation on which method truly works. In this video, I will give my usual tute but what’s different is that this time we will be conducting a few experiments! Join me as I test out a few different methods to see which one yields the highest score (9 out of 9) and which method falls flat. I will also share an ApeUni Mock Test result (I just did the writing section) and today I will share two Pearson practice test results – both using different methods and allowing for grammatical and spelling errors. It’s going to be such an eye-opener for so many of you and I hope you find it super helpful.
To sum up, my favourite method now is to copy + paste 4-6 sentences (well over 75 words, possibly up to 120 words), paraphrase a few chunks or even a whole sentence within the copy+pasted text and then combine + cut down to make it one coherent, high scoring sentence!
I really value feedback so if you feel this method DOES NOT WORK, please tell me! If you have found that this method DOES WORK, please tell me! If you are completely confused… PLEASE TELL ME! I’m here to help!
