Sunrise at Abandoned Six Flags New Orleans Jazzland by Urban Explorer Jason Lanier with Sony A7s

Jason was very fortunate to be able to explore the park before it was locked up by the city and rented out to movie studios. This is Part 1 of a 2 part series that shows the abandoned amusement park in a way it's never been captured before, at sunrise.

This video contains footage of some areas of the park that are the most forgotten and least documented, as well as some of the areas that Jason loves the most including the swing, ferris wheel and more.

Jason shot the entire footage by himself using 7 cameras for stills and video. He also set up some of these cameras for some special time lapse video that gives the viewer a glimpse of what the park looks like, sounds like, and feels like when nobody is around. He also grabbed some in camera panoramics to give the view an understanding of the size and feeling of this place forgotten by time.

This is one of Jason's favorite areas on earth to shoot and he's so grateful he was able to explore it while it was still open. He has since been informed by the city that they have no plans to ever let any photographers or videographers in the park to ever document this place that was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina.
