About Poet-
Oothukadu Venkata Subbaiyer was a prominent Carnatic music composer and one of the most revered figures in South Indian classical music. He lived in the 18th century and was born in Oothukadu, a small town in Tamil Nadu, which is why he is called "Oothukadu" Venkata Subbaiyer. He is well known for his contributions to Carnatic music, particularly his compositions in Tamil.
Venkata Subbaiyer composed a large number of kritis (devotional songs) dedicated to various Hindu deities, especially Lord Krishna. His works are admired for their melodic richness and lyrical beauty. His compositions span a variety of ragas (melodic scales) and talas (rhythmic cycles), with many of them showcasing a deep sense of devotion and a brilliant command of musical structure.
