The Smog Free Tower is coming to Beijing after initial testing in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde and his partners worked on the project, which is made up of two parts. First, they built a seven-meter tall tower that takes in polluted air and sucks out all pollutants. Second, the carbon from smog particles is turned into diamonds. The tower manages to keep more than 75 percent of airborne smog particles -- including PM2.5 and PM10 pollutants -- and releases clean air around the structure. The purifier will go on a smog-fighting tour to four other Chinese cities this year. Listen to Daan Roosegaarde as he shares his story on the Smog Free Tower.
