Singing this song has always been my failsafe for transmuting grief and moving emotions that feel stuck. It feels like painting out loud. That's when music feels right to me — when it doesn't try to be "right" at all.Still, I listen back to every note l've ever sung and feel discomfort in the missteps — the human moments that make this art form so vulnerable. And so moving.I think art is meant to be a selfish endeavour. It's meant to help you. It's there for you to reach out to. Whoever it impacts is a bonus. And truthfully, it will only leave an impact if it came from somewhere honest.I guess what I'm trying to say is: there's no wrong way to create.Let it be something important to you.
