I can't say this to many times, always consult your state and local trap regulations. These traps are built to conform to Florida regs in the Bay and Gulf county areas. The wire mesh I use is 16 gauge, 1.5 by 1.5 inch. I normally go around the bottom with rebar, but was out of 1/4 inch. The 1/2 inch is plenty heavy.
