Bears in New Jersey

Black bears have been sighted in all 21 New Jersey counties; do you know what to do if you encounter a bear in the wild? This program covers the natural history and biology of black bears, the Garden State’s largest land mammal. Our presenter Stephanie Getto will describe NJ Fish and Wildlife’s extensive black bear research program, as well as how the state manages complaints from residents regarding bears. Learn practical information as well as tips for coexisting with bears so they do not pose a threat at home or during your excursions into the woods.
