We are Draperstown Celtic, a Community Amateur Sport Club (CASC).

Draperstown Celtic have operated in the heart of the community since 1968. Our impact is felt far and wide and this ambitious development is intended to push our impact much further.

Why?

To help provide a vital gateway and path to aiding mental health and wellbeing for a well connected community for all. We believe in football, and generally, sport, for all and have a special emphasis on mental health and wellbeing, youth development and inclusion.

You don’t even have to play to be a part of our club. If you are a younger youth player, you will not be selected based on ability but on basis of equal playing time.

We have significant levels of cross community support from the local schools (controlled and catholic maintained) and from other clubs such as Ballinascreen and Desertmartin GAA (suitable through inclusion of shockpads in the specification - there is a 10 pitch supply shortfall of supply GAA pitches in Mid Ulster). This will offer access to facilities and build a more inclusive community).

The cost

The total cost of this multisport project is £630,000. £390,000 has been secured through the IFA/DCMS fund. We are one of only 17 projects awarded in Northern Ireland.

We have also attained £40,000 of support from Mid Ulster District Council. Between fundraising and club loans we are required to facilitate the balance of £200,000 in funding. To ensure a sustainable level of club debt we are endeavouring to raise £125,000 from businesses and individuals.
