This lecture presents three areas in which the International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection (IRAD) has advanced understanding of acute type B aortic dissection. This includes temporal classification especially for the subacute time period, risk stratification for identifying complicated cases, and thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR).
