With 40 miles of rocky, tough trails, almost 6000 feet of climbing, a stacked field and one of the biggest payouts in US mountain biking, this race, the Grand Junction Rides 'N Vibes Filthy 40 definitely fits into our "best and most challenging mountain bike races" requirement. It’s a race that, in many ways, plays to our strengths…except well, last year-- and there is not way to say this nicely – we both had abysmal performances.

This race last year was a catalyst for us to make some changes to get our behavior in line with our priorities. We stopped skimping on our warmups, we started getting up earlier to train first thing, we increased our training volume. So now we’re coming back for redemption, but have we done enough?
