But little do they know, the magic Twilight used to hatch Spike back when she was a filly never left his body. So now, Spike is back from the dead, disfigured and taller, and wants vengeance...

Q: How did Spike get killed in the last remix?
A: Spike was this close to slitting her throat with a shard of glass during their fight and he was somehow able to withstand most of her telekinesis. Keep in mind that this takes place before Magical Mystery Cure and that she was inexperienced with most magic at the time. In self-defense she misfired magic towards him that sends Spike flying across the room. However, the spell that she misfired was actually a faulty petrifaction spell similar to the cockatrice's stare. But instead of just completely turning him into stone, only half of his body petrified and caused excruciating pain as his scales flaked off and vital organs failing due to being turned into stone. He died a slow painful death on the spot, leaving Twilight to collapse to the ground and mourned over her mistake.

The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?

Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. The game is also open source to allow users to mod or simply look through its assets.
