माँ पार्वती से माता सीता तक — उंझा की उमिया माता मंदिर का चौंकाने वाला सच

गुजरात के मेहसाना जिले के उंझा में स्थित उमिया माता मंदिर पाटीदार समाज की कुलदेवी उमिया माता को समर्पित एक अत्यंत दिव्य और ऐतिहासिक मंदिर है. मान्यता है कि माँ पार्वती ने स्वयं सरस्वती नदी तट पर 52 मूर्तियाँ बनाई थीं और भगवान शिव ने उनमें प्राण प्रतिष्ठा की, यही 52 महापुरुष आगे चलकर पाटीदार समाज के पूर्वज बने और माँ उमा उनकी कुलदेवी बनीं. एक अन्य कथा के अनुसार माता सीता ने भी माँ उमा की उपासना की थी और उनके पूजा-सेवा का दायित्व लव-कुश को सौंपा था, जिनके वंशज पाटीदार माने जाते हैं. लगभग 2000 वर्ष पूर्व 212 ईमें राजा बृजपाल सिंह ने इस मंदिर का निर्माण कराया था, जिसके बाद समय-समय पर इसका पुनरुद्धार होता रहा है. मंदिर का विशाल परिसर, भव्य शिल्प, दीवारों पर उकेरी प्रतिमाएँ और स्वर्ण मंडित गर्भगृह इसे अत्यंत पावन बनाते हैं. गर्भगृह में प्रतिष्ठित माँ उमिया के दर्शन से भक्तों की चिंताएँ दूर होती हैं और उन्हें अद्भुत मानसिक शांति प्राप्त होती है. परिसर में शिवालय, हनुमान मंदिर, सीताराम मंदिर और अन्य देवताओं की मूर्तियाँ भी स्थापित हैं. यहाँ प्रातः और संध्या की आरती अत्यंत दिव्य वातावरण निर्मित करती है. उंझा आने वाले हर यात्री के लिए यह मंदिर दर्शन अवश्य करने योग्य है.

Located in Unjha of Mehsana district, the Umiya Mata Temple stands as one of the most revered spiritual centers of Gujarat and the divine seat of the Kuldevi of the Patidar community. According to ancient legends, Goddess Parvati created 52 idols on the banks of the Saraswati River, and Lord Shiva infused life into them. These 52 beings became the ancestors of the Patidar community, and thus Umiya Mata has been worshipped as their eternal goddess since time immemorial. Another folklore links Umiya Mata’s devotion to Mata Sita, who entrusted her worship to Luv and Kush, believed to be the ancestral lineage of the Patidars.

Believed to have been originally established nearly 2000 years ago, the temple has undergone several renovations over time and continues to shine with grandeur. Its majestic architecture, finely carved walls, serene mandap and golden sanctum create an atmosphere of deep spiritual energy. The idol of Maa Umiya radiates grace, and devotees believe that she fulfills heartfelt wishes and removes obstacles. The temple complex also includes shrines of Shiva, Sita-Ram and Hanuman.
