How Doctor Who's New Season Went From Brilliant To Total Disaster

Series 15 of Doctor Who (listed as season 2 on some platforms) began airing in April 2025, starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor and Varada Sethu as his new companion Belinda Chandra. At first, I thought the season could become one of my all-time favorites. However, the two-part finale, Wish World and The Reality War, broke my heart, and not in a good way.

But was this disaster of a finale just down to bad writing decisions, or did something go wrong behind the scenes that screwed things up beyond the writers' control? The truth is, it's a bit of both.
