Today’s Task: Configuring Auto Scaling Today, we unlock the true power of the cloud: Elasticity. We will configure an Auto Scaling Group (ASG) that automatically adds new EC2 instances when traffic is high and deletes them when traffic is low.
In this video, you will learn:
Launch Templates: Creating a "blueprint" for your instances. This tells the Auto Scaling Group exactly what kind of server to launch (AMI, Instance Type, Security Group) when it needs to scale out.
Auto Scaling Group (ASG): Setting up the group that manages your fleet of servers. We will define the minimum, maximum, and desired capacity.
Dynamic Scaling Policies: configuring rules (e.g., "If average CPU usage greader than 50%, add 1 server").
Stress Test: We will artificially increase the load on our server and watch as AWS automatically launches a new instance to help handle the traffic!
This is how companies like Netflix and Amazon handle millions of users without crashing.
