In this video I bring you with me as I build a totally custom modern guitar with traditional, vintage vibe styling.
The concept for this guitar came out of my love of multiscale instruments and the theory behind them, but if you look up multiscale guitars, they're all black and pointy and made for metal. I prefer a traditional looking instrument, for rock or blues and that's what this is.
The guitar features a highly figured maple neck with an ebony fretboard, stainless steel frets, a lightweight ash body with a flamed maple top, and Gotoh 510 locking tuners. Electronics are handled by a set of beautiful sounding Deacci Blackhat single coils, with a familiar and versatile control layout.
One of the most interesting parts of the guitar is the fully ebony bridge, which I made custom for this. Its stainless steel saddles hep your tone, and the low profile wooden bridge feels super comfortable under your hand. They are available on my website - https://www.awenworkshop.com/guitars/...
This build focuses on clean workmanship, playability, and long-term reliability, rather than shortcuts or mass-production techniques. It represents everything I love to build in a guitar - modern ergonomics in a traditional shell.
