Gotham FC’s Rose Lavelle and Emily Sonnett spoke to reporters following the club’s 1-0 victory against the Washington Spirit in the 2025 NWSL Championship, presented by Google Pixel.
Lavelle, reflecting on the championship win, said, “It’s just so special. … I always say you learn the most about yourself in the toughest moments, and the adversity we faced throughout the season really helped set us up to be prepared for this playoff push. That’s what set us up to win in the end.”
The victory secured Gotham’s second NWSL Championship in three seasons.
