Africa Unite's Human Rights Fellow, Joseph Eliabon Maniragena had the chance to speak with experts Hanifa Manda and David Robbetze to understand the context of Islamist extremism in the northern province of Mozambique and the implications the crisis has on the SADC region.
Hanifa Manda is a Human Rights, Democracy and Governance Specialist for Southern Africa. She has a MPhil in Multidisciplinary Human Rights from the University of Pretoria and currently works as a Regional Program Coordinator for the International Republican Institute.
David Robbetze is the Managing Director and founding member of Executive Research Associates, one of Africa’s leading socio-economic, political and security risk research and consultancy firms.
