Snader Telescriptions are short television filler films that were produced by Snader Telescriptions Corp, Louis D. Snader, Executive Producer. The Telescriptions would be run to pad out on the half-hour, in case a live show ran under. Snader also produced "The Liberace Show" and "The Korla Pandit Show." Snader Telescriptions were produced and directed by Louis "Duke" Goldstone, and captured many popular recording artists of the day. Because of limitations in studio time, Goldstone created a three-camera shoot system, which would offer flexibility in one-take situations. Among those who visited Goldstones sets was Desi Arnaz, who that same year would utilize the same idea of filming for the CBS sitcom, "I Love Lucy."
Snader #11605. Featured here are Nick Lucas (1897-1982) and The Debutantes (Betty Noyes, Marjorie Briggs, and Dorothy Compton). Lucas, a crooner-guitarist had attained fame with his hit "Tip-toe Thru the Tulips" in 1929, and continued to be a singer into the 1970s. The Debutantes got their start and remained with the Ted Fiorito Orchestra into the 1940s. The song, "Get Out Those Old Records," was written by Carmen Lombardo & John Jacob Loeb, and was originally recorded by the Guy Lombardo Orchestra in 1950.
